Gehrlicher Solar is Founding Member of the Environmental Energy Law Foundation

Stiftung Umweltenergierecht

On 1 March 2011, Gehrlicher Solar AG, and over 40 other members, founded the Environmental Energy Law Foundation. The goal of this non-profit organization is to promote science in the areas of environmental energy legislation, climate protection legislation und the legislations for the sustainability of energy supply on a national, European and international level.

The foundation has divided its work into three research areas: the transformation of electricity supply, regenerative and efficient heat and cold supply, and sustainability in mobility and transportation. The aim is to be able to contribute in the creation of a legally binding framework for a sustainable and efficient energy supply from renewable energies.

”We support the Environmental Energy Law Foundation because we consider that further and more intensive research in the area of renewable energies law and energy efficiency is urgently required. With these research activities, we hope to be able to make a valuable contribution to anchor the legal basis for the rapid development of renewable energies”, explains Gehrlicher CEO, Klaus Gehrlicher.

On 23 March 2011, the foundation was acknowledged by the government of Lower Franconia. The foundation will elaborate its research program in the coming weeks and prepare a draft of specific research projects. A scientific ceremony is planned to take place in early summer which will also mark the beginning of the thematic work of the foundation.
