Melanie Huml, Secretary of State for the Environment and Jürgen W. Heike, Member of State Parliament visit Gehrlicher Solar AG
After a guided tour of the company, the visit focused on discussing energy-related issues.
Neustadt near Coburg, November 19, 2010. Last Friday, Melanie Huml, Bavarian Secretary of State for the Environment and Health, and Jürgen W. Heike, Member of State Parliament for the district of Coburg visited Gehrlicher Solar AG. Together with Klaus Gehrlicher, Chairman of the Board, Ralph Schemmerer, CFO and Steffen Licht, Vice -President Roof Top Systems, they first visited the company premises and the company’s logistics centre.
Following the guided tour, Heike Huml, Jürgen W. Heike and Gehrlicher representatives took part in a discussion about energy-related issues. The focus of the discussion was mainly set on the future perspectives of the solar industry in Bavaria as a business location. The effects of the latest EEG amendment on the industry and the internationalization strategy of Gehrlicher Solar AG were also discussed.
Secretary of State Heike Huml stressed she was glad to have visited Neustadt and to have been able to get an idea of Gehrlicher’s performance and innovative capability.
„Renewable energies are the key to energy supply in the future. Bavaria identified this opportunity at an early stage and has continuously expanded renewable energy sources over the past decades.” The goal is to meet over 40 percent of the electricity needs with regenerative sources of energy by the year 2030. „Today, Bavaria has established itself as the leading center for photovoltaics in Germany. We want to extend this lead“, said Huml. She concluded by wishing the company the success it deserves for the future too.
