The feed-in tariff for electricity generated from photovoltaic systems in Spain is solely by means of a fixed feed-in tariff, which is adjusted quarterly for new systems (RD 1578/2008). If the output targets set by the government are achieved, there will be no funding for any capacity above this level (Art. 22, 35-42 RD 661/2007; Artt. 5, 10 RD 1578/2008).

Funding will continue to be offered for all systems for the generation of electricity from renewable energy sources up to an installed capacity of 50 MW (Art. 27.1 Ley 54/97; Art. 45 RD 661/2007). Systems with a capacity above this level will not receive funding. Electricity generated from systems that is sold along direct cables is also not eligible for funding (§ 24 Cl. 3 RD 661/2007).
