General information on promotion in Italy

There are various feed-in tariffs for photovoltaic systems in Italy that can also be combined with each other. PV systems are promoted above all by a premium tariff I (Conto Energia IV), as the quota system (Certificati verdi) previously used cannot be claimed for systems that became operational after 31.12.2007.

There is also an option to sell solar power on the free market within the "ritiro dedicato" regulatory system (purchase by Gestore dei Servizi Elettrici at a fixed price).

Photovoltaic systems are also subject to reduced VAT of 10% instead of the usual 20%. Individual support can be claimed by private individuals as well as by companies. If electricity is imported from abroad, it will be subject to Italian VAT and not the foreign rate of VAT.
