Grid parity is reached when electrical energy from a PV system can be sold for the same price as the end customer pays for electricity from other energy sources. If energy cost from a PV system is lower than the cost of other energy sources, then it might be wise for the system operator to use the solar electricity himself instead of feeding it into the public grid.
