What components comprise a photovoltaic system?

The basic component is the solar module, which consists of many interconnected solar cells. These modules are combined with each other to form a solar generator. The direct current generated by the solar cells is directed to the inverter. This device converts direct current into alternating current, which is fed to the public grid via an export meter. During periods with low sunshine duration, electricity is taken from the grid - the grid therefore serves as storage for the photovoltaic system.
