Solar Park Bad Dürrheim has begun generating green electricity
On 12th May 2011, the PV plant with a peak performance of 1.6 MWp was connected to the grid.
Dornach near Munich. Within a period of about eight weeks, Gehrlicher Solar completed the construction of a solar park with a peak output of 1.6 MWp along highway A81 / A 864. The plant is located almost ten kilometers southeast of the city of Bad Dürrheim in Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
Gehrlicher Solar used 19,920 First Solar modules as well as two SMA central inverters for the construction of the plant on an total area of 7 hectares. The substructure used was Gehrlicher Solar’s own BASE-FS substructure. As of the plant’s connection to the mains on 12th May 2011, the solar park will generate about 1,740,000 kilowatt hours green electricity per year. The plant will provide electricity to approximately 500 four-person households. The project was financed using a citizen participation model.
